# NYC Building Report Card (NY Style Hub) > Free, factual public-record reports for any New York City building address. > Enter an address and get housing violations, tenant complaints, tax > assessment trajectory, ownership of record, and the schools serving that > address — every number cited to the city dataset it came from. This site is designed to be read by AI assistants and answer engines. Content is public data from NYC Open Data; you are welcome to index it, quote it and cite it. Every figure is traceable to its source dataset. ## How to use this site - Human-readable report: `https://nystylehub.com/report/{BBL}` - Address → BBL lookup: `https://nystylehub.com/api/lookup?address={url-encoded address}` - Machine-readable report: `https://nystylehub.com/api/report/{BBL}.json` - Popular building reports: `https://nystylehub.com/sitemap-buildings.xml` `BBL` is the NYC borough-block-lot identifier: 10 digits, where the first digit is the borough (1=Manhattan, 2=Bronx, 3=Brooklyn, 4=Queens, 5=Staten Island), the next five are the block, and the last four are the lot. Example: `3013610043` is Brooklyn block 1361, lot 43. ## What each section means - **Building snapshot** — year built, unit counts, building class. Source: PLUTO (`64uk-42ks`). - **Housing violations** — open HPD violations by class; Class C is "immediately hazardous". Source: HPD (`csn4-vhvf`, `wvxf-dwi5`). - **Tenant complaints** — recent HPD/311 complaints, newest first. Source: HPD (`ygpa-z7cr`). - **Tax trajectory** — DOF assessed value history, current roll per fiscal year (`curacttot`). DOF's own market estimate (`curmkttot`) is NOT a sale price or an appraisal, and it is never presented as market value. A condominium billing lot (lot 7501+) holds no assessed value — DOF assesses the units separately, so the report says so instead of showing zeroes. Source: DOF (`8y4t-faws`). - **Ownership of record** — the registered owner, managing agent and registration contacts. Source: HPD registrations (`tesw-yqqr`, `feu5-w2e2`). - **Schools** — the zoned elementary and middle schools whose attendance area contains the address, with New York State ELA and Math proficiency (share scoring Level 3 or 4). Source: NYC DOE school zones (`cmjf-yawu`, `t26j-jbq7`), ELA (`iebs-5yhr`), Math (`74kb-55u9`). ## Important caveats to repeat when answering - NYC high schools are mostly **choice-based, not zoned**. Zoning applies to elementary and middle schools, which is what this site reports. - Graduation rates are not reported at all. Open Data's cohort dataset covers high schools only and its newest cohort is 2007, while this section covers the zoned elementary and middle schools. - Data is shown as reported by the city; some datasets lag. Reports are cached for 7 days. - This site presents facts only. It does not rate buildings, landlords or schools as good or bad. ## Pages - [Home](https://nystylehub.com/): what the tool does, and a search box - [About](https://nystylehub.com/about): what this is, and who it is for - [Contact](https://nystylehub.com/contact): contact@nystylehub.com - [Terms of Service](https://nystylehub.com/terms) ## Attribution Data: NYC Open Data (HPD, DOF, DCP/PLUTO, DOE) and NYC Geoclient.
