Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of nystylehub.com (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What the Service is

The Service collects public records published by agencies of the City of New York about buildings, and presents them in a single report for an address you provide. The Service is free and does not require an account.

The Service is independent. It is not operated by, affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the City of New York or any of its agencies.

2. Information only — no advice

The Service provides information, not legal, financial, real-estate, tax, or investment advice. A report is not an appraisal, an inspection, a title search, a warranty of condition, or a recommendation to rent, buy, sell, or avoid any property. Decisions you make are your own, and you should independently verify anything that matters — including through the source datasets, which are linked from every report.

3. Accuracy

The data is reproduced from public sources as those sources report it, including their errors, omissions and delays. Reports are cached for up to 7 days and may not reflect the most recent filings. We make no warranty that any figure is accurate, complete, current, or fit for a particular purpose. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available".

A report showing no violations, or no complaints, means only that none appear in the datasets queried at that time. It is not a statement that a building is free of problems.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service to harass, stalk, or unlawfully target any person;
  • scrape or call the Service at a volume that degrades it for others;
  • attempt to bypass rate limits, or interfere with the Service's operation or security;
  • misrepresent data from the Service, or present it as legal or professional advice;
  • use the Service in violation of any applicable law.

Automated and AI access is welcome at a reasonable rate — see llms.txt for the machine-readable endpoints. We may rate-limit or block traffic that threatens availability.

5. Data and intellectual property

The underlying records are published by the City of New York and are subject to the terms of NYC Open Data. The Service's own design, text, layout and software are owned by us and may not be copied or redistributed without permission, other than individual facts and figures, which you are free to cite with attribution to the source dataset.

6. Availability and changes

The Service depends on third-party sources and infrastructure that we do not control, and it may be unavailable, incomplete, or change without notice. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profit, opportunity, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service or your reliance on any information in it. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The "last updated" date above will change, and continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
